Salt and Straw, a growing ice cream shop with locations in Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, needed assistance documenting and standardizing procedures for shop managers.
Idea Learning Group collaborated with Salt & Straw to:
- review all relevant existing content and documents
- conduct on-site observations at each of the three Portland shops
- facilitate a four-hour workshop to refine shop manager job duties
Using the operations manual, shop managers quickly access audience-specific tasks and procedures organized by frequency—daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, as needed.
Managers use the interactive table of contents and hyperlinked terms within the guide to refer to content as they need it.
Salt & Straw is hoping to create the kind of company that’s fun to support, work for, and partner with. They’re about building strong local community – both in the neighborhoods where they do business and by purchasing as many local products as possible. But at the end of the day, they just really hope you enjoy the ice cream.
